To mark the release of The Comeback Special – Live at the Royal Albert Hall, THE THE collaborated with Mark Perronet to create a series of four exclusive limited edition prints.
Mark (print maker and co-owner of Atom Gallery in London) had previously collaborated with Andy Dog, Matt’s late brother and designer of many of the group’s early sleeves. Utilising the old analogue technique of screenprinting, visual elements of The Comeback Special Tour have been combined to create these vivid new designs. Each of these four new posters are hand-numbered, embossed with the THE THE logo and signed by Matt Johnson.
This screenprint creates an interplay between lyrics from ‘Slow Emotion Replay’, the cover photo used for The Comeback Special, a film still of all the band in silhouette and rendering of clouds from the pages of Andy Dog’s sketchbooks.
